At Avery Insurance, keeping your personal information secure has always been a top priority throughout the organization. Following are standards we have established to ensure that we treat your personal information properly at all times.


Title V of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) generally prohibits any financial institution, directly or through its affiliates, from sharing non-public personal information about you with a non-affiliated third party unless the institution provides you with a notice of its privacy policies and practices, such as  the type of information that it collects about you and the categories of persons or entities to whom it may be disclosed. In compliance with the GLBA, we are providing you with this document, which notifies you of the privacy policies and practices of Avery Insurance.


Most of your non-public personal information is provided by you on your application for insurance. Depending on the type of insurance policy you request, we may seek additional information about you or other individuals who are being proposed for coverage under the policy. In certain circumstances we may collect information about you from third parties. For example, for automobile insurance we may seek driver information from the state motor vehicle departments; for property insurance we may send someone to inspect the property; and for health insurance we may obtain medical information. Also, we may review prior claims information. The information we collect allows us to properly underwrite and rate your policy of insurance and to complete any other transactions incidental to your insurance policy.


We do not disclose any non-public personal information about our policyholders except as permitted by law. In some cases information will be disclosed to third parties without your authorization. These disclosures include those made to your company or broker, appraisers and adjusters who investigate, defend or settle your claims, insurance regulators, and/or your mortgagee or lienholder.


We restrict access to your personal information to those employees who need it to provide the insurance products and services you have requested. We maintain electronic and procedural safeguards to ensure the confidentiality of your information. These safeguards comply with state and federal laws designed to guard your non-public personal information. Our employees are educated on the importance of maintaining the standards we have in place.
