We are pleased to announce we have pledged $15,000 to support the Pop Whalen Ice and Arts Center renovation.
The Pop is a year-round, multi-use facility located in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, named after Paul “Pop” Whalen, an inspirational coach and teacher that emphasized academics, athletics, good sportsmanship, and community health.
The Pop will host pickleball, indoor soccer, box lacrosse, arts and fashion shows, farmers’ markets, concerts, and conferences. It will also be the hub for mountain biking and Nordic skiing trails. The rejuvenated arena opened on January 4, 2023, and has already hosted more than 3,000 visitors. “We are proud of our commitment to building stronger, healthier communities through charitable giving,” said Tod O’Dowd, President of Avery Insurance. “This donation will make a difference for generations to come.”
